Bullseye Pistol Shrimp MIA

I recently purchased a bullseye pistol shrimp a week ago, i dripped him for 2 hrs before adding him to the tank i haven't seen him since. i hear him popping off once in awhile and the sand on one side of the tank appears to be mound up no signs of molting up to this point. Anyone out there have experience deaing with these litte guys is all the hiding normal???

If you hear him he is alive and fine. I have one for years now and see him at most feedings but otherwise he is hidden in the rock work. Once you figure out where he is living you should see him pop out briefly during feedings.

Pistols are generally "braver" and more often seen when paired with a goby, but even so, I can go weeks without seeing mine.

It sounds like yours is OK. One thing to be aware of is that their constant digging can result in cave-ins, where rock not placed on the bottom of the tank can crush or trap them. So with those shrimp, I would definitely recommend placing rocks directly on the bottom of the tank, and then adding sand.
