bumble bee snail question

ReefOG
i love bumble bee snails and i have dozens in the tank and i read somewhere that they are a predatory whelk. i never seen them eat or try to attack other snails in the thank. i just was curious if anyone else heard something like that. i read the snails scientific name was changed to Engina mendicaria or is it all just junk talk???

I have them also and have heard the same. They are predatory and can kill other snails. Or so i've been told.

Yeah, their name wasn't changed, Engina mendicaria is just the scientific name of the species. They probably mostly eat itty bitty animals, so you very well may not miss what they eat. Some of the carnivorous snails mentioned in recent posts are a lot larger than your bumblebee snails.

Cheers,

Don

It's not that I'm a snail expert, just that I'm ignorant about everything else... ;)

I really like that line. Mind if I steal it? :)
