"Burping" my new Nautilus

My Nautilus arrived the other day, and has spent the entire time floating up at the surface.

After some research I'm assuming it has an air bubble stuck in the shell.

Can anyone here offer advice while I wait on tonmo my tonmo registration?

Constantly rotate it and turn it around maybe?

The rotating didnt work, that was my first thought.

I think it might be due to an effect similar to when your ears pop on an airplane. Something ruptured in his boyancy regulating system. (This is all an assumption, I'm not basing this on anything)

Tonmo is being super slow activating my membership, I feel terrible for the little guy, I have no clue what to do.

From what I have read, the chambers they do not occupy depending on their age the amount of chambers vary, are filled with gas to allow buoyancy. There is a thin strand that is part of the animal that runs through the walls of the chambers in small holes. The holes allow for water and gas to occupy the chambers. The nautilus occupies the outermost chamber while the thin strands regulate the holes allowing gas and water in the unoccupied (older) chambers. Perhaps the strands were damaged? I am no expert what so ever and I have tried finding some experience on this but no luck. Perhaps you can call the vendor who sold it to you?

he's still just bobbing around in the tank, he ate part if a shrimp yesterday and spent some time jetting around but still stuck at the surface.

Where did you even get him from?

He came from a wholesaler out in Cali, he was fine and dandy out there, eating out of your hand and swimming around happily.

Hopefully he will work out whatever problem he has. Eating is a good sign.
