worried about this little guy; he was the first fish in my FOWLR set up he has always ben a big eater trying anything I put in the tank. But he just ignores food now it has been around 4 days. i first noticed he was hiding a lot more normally he is out foraging all the time; he did this when started to add other fish but he would come out to eat.
I checked my water params and found my NO3 was around 60 this is way higher than it has ever been so I did a 10% w/c last night and cleaned my cannister filter out really rinsing out the floss. Have any of you seen a fish not eat due to high nitrates ? Or can this just be a coincidence all the other(4) fish are fine. Have seen no aggression at 4" the Bursa is close to the biggest fish in my 125 gal tank.
Foods I have tried are frozen prawns, ON Trigger mix, ON Formula one frozen. Formula one/two flake and pellets also Hikari pellets also frozen Krill and Brine Shrimp he used to eat all of these esp the prawns.
Getting worried about him he looks thinner(sunken face); any Trigger keepers suggest any other foods I might try ? What about frozen Bloodworm(that usually works for fussy FW fish)
