kudos for bush, that's one of the few acts to help preserve the reefs, he is one of the few presidents that have done anything about that, but it does show how much the US asserts authority in the world. and that is a problem, as in the opinion of Jacques Cousteau, the ocean should belong to no one, which in a literal term it doesn't, but there should be a worldwide council on such a thing, and there aren't enough politicians who could care.

I will agree that it appears what was done for the Marine Reserve seems to be good. In the context of the bigger picture though (enviromentally speaking)?

I understand you can't clean up and or control everything but sometimes it seems ALL politicians seem to forget what is also involved. It's not just Bush either. We could go through thousands of postings to show how hypocritical many leaders have been.
Then again, some have been better at actually making legislation that does do something considerable more so than others.

I'll stop the debate here since Earl 45 seems to take the comments personally. I was simply pointing out the hypocrisy which was in line with the title.
