butterfly breathing only with one gill

hi everyone,

It's been 2 weeks that i bought a auriga butterfly for my fish only system to control aiptasia population.

its not unusual but, 2 days later i see him breathing with both gills and some with only the right or left one.

I see no sign of stress like scratching, heavy breathing or color loss.
he is eating well and he wiped out my aiptasia problem (only the big ones are left).

however, i dont know if its normal that the part of his gill is darker than his normal color for a auriga that is white.
is flukes or parasitic infection? cause i dont see nothing on him and doing great

thank you for the read

I've had that with several puffer fish (Tetraodon nigroviridis). Back then my assumption was gill flukes but I could never confirm that. Speaking against that was that several of them I had at different times did it.

but is your puffer got something a few days later or he always got it?
and did he die after or its was nothing?

They never had any other problems. Usually they switched sides to breathe with once in a while. I think to remember that this stopped after I got them transitioned to full salinity.
