I stop in to Xzotic Aquatic World today and pick up a Flame Angel. As you know some of these guys are picky when it comes to eating. I ask to feed the fishes to see which one was eating belive it or not all 6 of them were eating.

I Didnt know they quarantine their fish for at least 7 days or until they are eating.

Now that I found out that and they have a 7 day guaranty on all their fish. I have been buying all my fish from there now.

Did I mention that they also have great prices on there live stock.

That's not true I bought a maulicepes tang and several other fish and corals thousand of dollors worth . even at there old location never has any issue it's all about your water chemistry and how you acclimate your fish and coral . Yes the have great customer service they even stayed open late so I can shop with out them knowing I came from Wisconsin . But everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Thought if share my experience

Many of chicago reefers have been burned by this place I was just talking to a few reefers about it earlier and all say the same... if you purchase anything from here PLEASE qt with meds.

I don't think 7 days is enough for QT, but maybe things have changed...I've been in there and have bought, but I knew I was taking a risk with their livestock. I don't think things stay long enough at their cheap prices to be properly quarantined. The biggest draw is cheap fish, but it's definitely a gamble. Shameless plug for some kickback maybe, but OP doesn't work there, lol...

This hobby is a gamble, I rather buy cheaper and risk it. I have bought from lfs and paid top dollar and they QT and they still die. 7 days guarantee Is better than 0.

I have bought plenty of times from Omar and Xzotic without any issues....this place is a far cry from it's Global days...
much nicer facility and the staff is extremely pleasant to deal with.
Every LFS will have it's fair share of happy and unhappy customers.
There isn't one LFS in the Chicagoland area that hasn't had "unhappy" customers....QT or no QT...

Ive bought from here with enough success that ill keep shopping with them. Their prices are decent and I havent experienced more success when buying from other lfs with much higher prices.

I gotta admit I prefer the old warehouse location though, way more coral selection.

Agreed, the old location was much better - more selection!

I have never had issues with this store and the owner even allowed me to exchange a dwarf lion that I could not get to eat frozen foods for one that would. Cheap fish, corals could use some help lately though.

Agreed, many new hobbyist experience some bad and good with all LFS in there respected locations. What makes that local fish store worst than the next? All the seasoned reefers should already know to QT everything they get from any LFS regardless of there status and claims.
