Be aware there are a lot of people that like to bash companies so take some of these post with a grain of salt.

After reading the article, pleading, and Orbitec statements it is jsut about money. Orbitec did not have the "internal resources" to enter the market. The patent won;t hold up for using LED lights. Orbitect did not invent the LED. If there was a particular circuit design used, then maybe they ahve a case.

Either way, I see this as orbitec trying to boost capital off of others R&D...kinda slimey imho.

As for consumers, your warranties will need to be honored in some fashion by law. Remember the polariod vs kodak case on the isntant camera? Even 30 year old cameras that weren't in production for well over 10 years had to be given a market value in dollars to a consumer. Im not saying it covers all costs, but there are laws that protect us. (magnusum act I think..someone will know)

The last thing that is funny is the suppsoed liable someone was stating about reefbuilders. It's a public forum and as long as the poster was not posting as a corporate rep, the 1st amendment covers his right to free speech :-)

If the PFO folks have all been laid off, it isn't the lawsuit that caused that. The lights are nice, but also come at a premium price, and they have likely been burning through cash to try and get the LED business to where it is profitable. In this economy, they probably took a pretty big hit....
