Buying a RO/DI unit --- Which one?

J,
I thought that myself, but it seems that the 10-5-5 array lasts the longest for our area which makes me think that the lab guys that told me 7-10 micron may be a little off. Even when I was running my RO unit full bore the cartridges would last 5-6 months w/o clogging. It's always better to replace the sediments.

Feel free to Email Rbogath@aol.com about the wholesale thing...

Aquaticman,
It depends on the Kent, but you more than likely don't need a new unit, you can certainly refit it up to higher performance...

Marine Depot

Marine Depot

I ordered a SpectraPure RO/DI unit two weeks ago from Marine Depot. I was told that it drop ships from Spectra Pure and that it would take an additional few days so maybe as much as two weeks.

I was perfectly fine with the extra few days.

Then Marine Depot tells me via e-mail that the TDS meter is back ordered... How would I like to proceed? I tell them to tell Spectra Pure I have no problems waiting. I did this via e-mail.

Then I recieve another e-mail from Marine Depot asking if I was OK with the wait because the RO/DI unit can be shipped without the meter with a plug or something in it. (The meter would ship once it comes in)

I said no, I am perfectly fine wating for the system to arrive fully assembled at the factory. I am in no hurry.

Now Marine Depot tells me that they have sent the unit without the TDS meter and that I can put it on!

Like ordering a car without the tires and being told that the car has been delivered in my driveway and that the tires will arrive later and I can put them on.

I have had very good service from Marine Depot but for them to ship something half assembeled and expect me to put it together is unfortuniate. I am not Joe Handy.

Spectra is a sponsor of RC and has their own forum, you can post them a note about this.
In any case I am sure you will have no problem installing the meter. If the probe is installed is as simple as plugging the earphone style connector o the meter. Even if the probe is not installed it is as simple as screwing a hand fitting into a "T".

This thread is beyond old, but I was searching through my old posts and found it so I figured I would post an update! *lol*

I finally got my RO system from airwaterice. Yes I know it took a long time! Anyway I got the typhoon3 75gpd unit.

Just recieved

Just recieved

I suppose the irony of all of this is that I just recently recieved my TDS meter for the Spectra Pure.

Yes; it was only five months and it was easy to install...maybe two minutes from opening the package to up and running.

The Spectra Pure is an excellent RO/DI unit and the customer service was/is great from Spectra Pure.

I suppose that Marine Depot deserves some recognition as well. They were very helpful in trying to resolve the mater and then Spectra Pure actually just took over since its a drop shipment.

I can't say enough about either company and I would recommend Marine Depot and I would definitely recommend Spectra Pure which is sold through Marine Depot.

So... this thread can finally be laid to rest. I'm off to make some H2O with no TDS's!
