I'm not going to jump in with anything useless here, I don't want to stir up the pot with a LOL or any useless jab at anyone.
I don't feel the need to support a store SOLELY based on the fact they are a sponsor. I shop at places based on the fish and corals & dry goods they sell. Price is a factor but livestock rarity plays into it highly for me.
But the bylaws state otherwise. Right?
I stick with two-three stores locally, I have tried to give the others a chance but they never have anything, dimly lit coral tanks and the same old stuff week after week.
but maybe you need to slap your "loyal" customers around and get them to help you out!
This would be direct violation of RC rules
That said I feel a little bit of jealousy from you and you need to either improve and adapt or go away that's business!
Wow I asked for clarification and now I am jealous, interesting twist.
You need to evolve and market the heck out of your business to stay alive that's how it is.

Keith, have you asked to become a sponsor lately? If so we're you turned down? I would not be doing this here if I was a LFS owner, I'd be PMing the right people behind the scenes.
Tried that once but had my words twisted and made public, so I decided to ask here so that could not be done again. The "real" reason we decided not to sponsor SCMAS. Had nothing to do with our business model.
I also thought before I "asked" I would want clarification on what is expected before I agreed to anything.
But I figured since you brought it public I'd publicly respond with my view on it.
I cannot imagine a LFS wanting to become a sponsor and being turned away right now. If that is happening then it's an issue I will personally do everything I can to change when I am on the board and can change. I don't see anything in the bylaws that says we limit the amount of stores that get involved.
The line "This is from the new bylaws and should answer your question."
"These sponsors shall be given preference by the SCMAS"
Why not? don't you see that everywhere in life? You go to a baseball game, you see a big sign advertising Verizon wireless, don't you think the players will want to support those that support them? I hear radio stations plug the heck out of business' that support their contests and whatnot, why shouldn't we? give me a good reason.
Exactlly he asked a question I didn't see it answered so I quoted your new bylaws. Why is that a problem?
Actually all this is pointless I wanted some clarification on the commercial part of the bylaws I got that what more needs to be said.
