Byssal Thread Regrowth

I recently purchased my first Derasa clam. I have worked at a pet store at home during high school and know a fair amount about them. Due to my lack of Halide lighting (450watts of Power Compact) and his bright green/blue coloration I moved him from the sand about midway up the tank to a small flat live rock I epoxied to make a level area for him. Now the way he is sitting right now I am worried about him falling due to fish or his own movement. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take for the Byssal Thread to attach to the rock? I didn't see any threads under him at the dealer.

I moved him to this location to improve the lighting and flow.

that doesn't sound like a derasa, more like a gigas, can you post a pic?

oh yeah and depending on size he may not grow a byssal thread, how big is he?
