C2C information..

So ive been looking around and seeing some information about Faux ghost overflows.. doing a 2" box on the inside with with bulkheads to an outside box, but im really nervous about that.. is there any way to do just an external c2c?

being that my work PC sucks its hard to look up a lot of this..

Can i do an internal c2c and just plumb it right down? I want to take up as little display room as possible.

Also the glass inside the tank, can i paint it or is that not advisable?

You have to notch the back of the tank. This is a highly NOT recommended procedure.

Do not paint the glass on the inside of the tank. You will have nothing but a tank full of paint chips, because no paint sticks to glass, that does not cost $300 - $400 per gallon, and don't be swayed by anecdote.

This tank is too small to really justify a siphon system, so you could do an internal L self C2C (flat top edge—no teeth) wide enough front to back so you can service the overflow, and do a glass-holes type drain system, that would probably run fairly quietly, due to large pipe and low flow. (1.5", or 2x 1.25" would probably be better.) Run the bulkhead(s) out the back of the tank, as the bottom is most likely tempered, and cannot be drilled.

A lot of folks want the "I don't want to take up room in my tank" deal, but you have to think of function before anything else. If the overflow is too small, you cannot get the bulkheads/elbows in or out if necessary.

So just do an L backet, 2 1.25" drains, how would I do a return for that then? Just make the box a little short?

I made mine go right over the box on the way back into the tank.
