Cable Cleanup

Hey MARS Members,

I finally got too irritated with the mess under my tank, so I decided to hide it all. Here's how I wrestled the wires into submission. :debi:

1) Assess the mess.

2) Assess it some more because it was daunting...

3) Find a cabinet laying around the house, don't tell your g/f you plan on repurposing it and put 2 nice holes in it. Stick in some desk grommets from the interwebs.

4) Spend 2 hours re-routing your wiring into it. Enjoy the finished product.

5) Give yourself an excuse to make use of the newly reclaimed space by purchasing some ridiculous dosing containers...lol

Please share your fancy cable management jobs so I may gather ideas for future improvements. Thank you much.

I'm a sucker for cord management in builds, good work. Probably one of the easiest things to brush off when setting up a tank.

I couldn't agree more. I just wish I had the forethought to see this prior to building the tank. Planning all this prior to adding water would have saved me many hours of hairpulling afterwards and rerouting the wiring.:fun2:

wow....very nice.

As an electrician by trade myself, even my cabinet looks like crap now.

You have inspired me to get off my *** and do something about it!

Problem is, Im a serial procrastinator....

Well there is only so much one can do since the cords are not adjustable in length.. I personally cut he plug and attach a new one.
