Well my issue is I'm supposed to have the bio pellets before the skimmer. Are you using filter floss in the first chamber?

Does it really matter where they go? LOL.

I put one blue sponge there, and place a layer of floss across it to act as pre filter to the overflow... carbon sits underneath it.

I'm not sure. Someone said you're supposed to point the outflow of the biopellet reactor towards the skimmer to export the excess bacteria. Who knows how much of a difference it actually makes. Maybe I'll switch them around at some point, so far everything packs in back there nicely! Filter floss then blue sponge is a good idea, I will try that

Tron I think you have done a great job with the space in the tank. I'm running a pls 50 elite also and it's perfect.

What are your thoughts of the cheato in the back? Does it hold well or are particles going in the tank a lot?

Thanks!

I put a piece of blue Sponge to keep it at bay but if you turn off the pump, and mess with the basket, watch out! Messy!

OP, Do you have a link to something similar that you used to hand your fixture? Or some pictures of how you did it? It looks great and I would like to replicate it if you don't mind.

Hi, Im happy to walk you through your options... The most basic and inexpensive come from Lowe's or Home Depot... in the closet isles, your basic L-Brackets for closet shelving... finding the right length is the tricky part...

--The one on the left is a store bought bracket that had a metal brace going across, I removed it, filled in the holes, sanded it, then painted over... works great...
--The one on the right is a custom built one by Chris from PicoAquariums, but i don't think he does them anymore... there are bends in the shape to accomodate a frame that was above it...
