CADLIGHTS 34G with pics

Are you sure it is not either the 39 signiture series or 22g cad. The dimensions are dead on for the 22g. The reason I ask this is I am considering a 22g when I sell my 90g . In the meantime I hope to be setting up a small 12g nano. Very nice nano:thumbsup: :celeb1: .

This is an awesome tank. It has me contemplating getting a cadlight. It's too bad the company seems a bit flaky. They say they are sold out with more on the way in July or August...

I just got in my new Tunze 9002 skimmer and Coralife cooling fan. I installed both yesterday and WOW. My tank is only a few feet from my desk and I spend a lot of time on the phone. I got use to the loud stock skimmer and fan, but after installing these new items it became apparent almost immediately that I should have done this a LONG time ago. The tank is not silent, but the difference is VERY noticeable and makes the tank much more enjoyable.

Been a long time since my last post here at RC. During my vaction my tank had a mini crash and I lost a few corals but no fish or inverts. I took this opportunity to re-aquascape my tank. Also, I have just recently started mixing my own SW using Tropic Marin Pro. This seems to have really helped all my corals and my tanks seems to be on the rebound...(crossing fingers).

FTS just before the mini crash...

Been a long time since my last post....

Installed a new Kent RO/DI water filter this week and started making my own water. No more lugging 5 gallon jugs back and forth to my LFS. :D

Picked up some new zoas at my LFS...what do you think...they are suppose to be from the land down under.

Looks fantastic!

Looks fantastic!

I really admire your tank...this thread has been one of the main reasons I decided to go with a Cadlight tank after months of research...I found this thread a source of inspiration as well as great info. Now for questions :)
1) Why change the light fixture? Did the lights burn and you just decided to upgrade the entire top instead of the bulbs?
2) Only thing I repeatedly see and dislike visually about the cads are the horrible octopuslike extensions from the return pump...do you have any idea if a tunze nano wavemaker would work more discretely? (or at all with the center overflow?)
Thanks for the inspiration!

Thanks for the nice post Jinj, just glad to be able to give back a little and happy that my posting here is helping fellow reefers. Without others posting and taking the time to answer all my questions, I would have never been able to take the plunge.

1) The original CAD light fixture was okay, but I was burning out HQI bulbs about every 60-90 days. This might not have been a CAD problem, but it was getting very expensive. Also, I had some minor issues with the T5's as well so I decided to upgrade to the outer orbit. The difference has been incredible and I am glad I made this move.

2) The lockline coming from the bulkhead is not the most pleasing thing to the eye, but to be honest I believe it could be hidden much better than what I have in my aquascaping. I have no experience with the Tunze wavemaker so I am not certain how that would work out?

Thanks and again for reading my thread and congrats on your Cadlights.

Great tank bud, I am glad to see you have been able to keep things going well!

Thanks, had my ups and downs but overall things have gone well.

looks like the clown lost his home, nice tank!

Yep...the dreaded vacation got him and darn near everything else in my tank. That was one of my down times! :eek2:

Added a TDS meter today and the readings are 255 ppm from the tap and 5 ppm after the run through the Kent Maxxima Hi-S system.

Anyone know if this should be lower or is this okay?
