Thanks for the post.....I keep some star fish arms frozen and give them a little each week.

More pics to come soon.

Awesome! Great to hear. Just wanted to make sure. Like mandarin fish, many people get them because they're wicked cool looking and they inevitably starve because the kid at the local fish store didn't explain their special needs before selling the critters.

I'm also setting up a BC8 in my office! I have a thread, but need to update it. Any mods planned?

I did cut some of the wall out between chamber 1 and 2 to help increase flow as well as turned chamber 2 into a fuge.

My tank is almost 4 months old.....thought I would show day one......

Okay....I have too much time on my hands but here goes......

I said a small desk top reef no more than 12 gallons at the most......so I purchased a 34 Gallon Cadlights.....

I said I would take it slow......so I purchased everything I needed and had it shipped in overnight......

I said I would give the tank at least 8 weeks to cycle before I added anything.....so tank cycled in one week and I added my first corals, fish and CUC......
IMG_0037.jpg

I said I would slow down and would stick with only easy to keep softies.......so I quickly added these.....a frogspawn and this blasto......

Continued in next thread.....

I said there was no way I was going to EVER get any type of anemone.......so I had to get my clown something to host......
IMG_0552.jpg

I said I really did not care to get fish at all, but maybe a couple.......so I have eneded up clown, wrasse, yashe goby, yellow watchmen, purple face fire fish and a bi color blenny......
IMG_0148.jpg

I said at this point which was about 45 days into my reefing I was going to stop and let things grow in and mature.........
IMG_0139.jpg

I said to heck with letting things mature........so I decided to add a pair of these harlequin shrimp which I said I was never going to do.......
IMG_0314.jpg

Continued on next thread......

I said that was it......no more.....so I added this SPS which I never had any interest in when I first started.....
IMG_0553.jpg

I said I never really liked the looks of these Duncans......so I went ahead and purchased these that now have become my favorites.........
IMG_0511.jpg

I say today January 18, 2008.........I am done.....no more.....this is it.....what you see is what you get......

Anyone seen a pic of the new CAD 39G?

My name is Rodney and I am a reef addict.

Your tank looks great!

Gus is adorable!

I have Duncans...they're definately on my favourites list...along with Open Brains!

BTW...if it makes you feel any better...I'm having a small frag tank custom made...

This is after I said I'd never have another SW tank because they require so much looking after!

Hey Rue....I know what you mean.....I ended up with 3 FW tanks when I said I the 29 gallon one I started with was all I needed.....ended up with an additonal 55 and 135 gallon tank.

Oh....and the same went for Gus.....I said no more dogs before we got him.......

But I mean it......no more SW tanks.......

Did I mention Santa bought my 7 year old son a Biocube 8 reef tank for Christmas.......:D

Does it ever end?

I love when this happens.....No tripod....did not shut the pumps off....did not turn off my office lights....simply pointed and snapped. I had no intentions of getting a picture worth posting.....was just trying to gets some pics so I could chart how much or how little growth some of my corals have had.....I got this shot and thought is was worth sharing......let me know what you think?

One of my fuge lights went out in my stock CAD light so instead of purchasing a new bulb I bought a LED hand light with 30 lights. I attached it with velcro to the back of my tank yesterday. I will keep an eye on my cheato and see how well it grows. The light puts off almost no heat and now I get no bleed over into my main tank at night.

nice!

nice!

this tank is beautiful....I'm sold on Cadlights now....gonna make the purchase as soon as I can.

How is the build quality of the fixture it came with?

How is the skimmer working for you?
