Calc at 700 ppm

My calc levels are 700 I set up the tank 2 months ago and have been adding kent liquid calc daily I only got the nutrafin test kit yesterday and am panicing The tank pH is 8.3 and the alkalinity "high" on a red sed test kit. I did the test twice to make sure. and am going to do a 10%water change this evening and other tips and is all the live stock in danger it does not seem to be bad/ill. and I have had no precipitate in the water I am obiously not going to add any more calc for the next few days

No need to panic, but don't add any more. What salt mix? Some, like Oceanic, start with excessive calcium levels.

One plan is to add alkalinity as necessary and let calcium decline on its own. This article has more:

does this mean contiue to add a buffer

i did a water change and the levels have dropped to 620ppm
Do I continue to add buffer (seachem buffer) to maintain pH and alk or do I need somthing else to raise alkilinity?

Buffer or just baking soda is fine for that purpose.
