Hey all ...

I have a question for you more experienced aquarists, if i was to measure out a gram of calcium chloride how much ppm would that be in 1 gallon of water ?

I read the article by randy saying that 500 grams in a gallon makes 37000 ppm ...so how much ppms would 1 gram make ?

i hate counting, i think it was somewhere around 74 ppm if im not mistaken.. was just trying to confirm.

That's about right. I'd call it 70 or 75 due to the rounding going on (accuracy of your volume and weight measurements, purity of your material, etc) but yea, low 70s is right.

From DFS brand CaCl, 1g for 10gal = +10ppm. So 1g for 1gal = +100ppm

I don't know how you apply that here. Adding 1 mg of calcium chloride to 1 L of water does not raise calcium by 1 ppm because of the weight of the chloride present.
