Is there anything I can do to prevent calcium carbonate from forming at my in-sump float valve? It's attached to my ATO full of Kalk. I use pickling lime.
If the magnesium level is okay (1280 ppm or so), then about all you could do is increase the flow through the sump. That might help some. Some people report that raising the magnesium a bit, to 1350 ppm or so, helps, but I am not sure about that.
