calcium reactor help

I'm trying to set up a used calcium reactor. I'm not sure how much bubbles per second i'm supposed to have my regulator at. The lowest psi marker is 10. Any help? it's for a 60 gallon tank with a 15 gallon sump.

thanks that helps. i'm just having a hard time fine tuning the reactor. The first dial shows a psi of 73 when i first got the tank. the next day it was down to 70. the second dial shows psi around 25, but i have about a bubble every 3 seconds coming out. Just wondering where all the tank psi has gone. I think I'm letting too many bubbles come out since my calcium level registered at 460.

It sounds like your out of CO2. The first dial (tank pressure) should reed about 900 psi. The second (working pressure) should read about 20 psi.

ok, i think i read a lot of things wrong. here goes again. on the right meter, it reads 1000psi for the tank. on the left, it reads a little under 20 psi. Are these correct settings? I am trying to open my needle valve, but no bubbles are coming out in the bubble counter.

I am not sure how many bubbles I should be allowing. The previous owner told me 1 bubble per 3 seconds. Is this about correct? Those who have a 60 gallon, what do you bubble? I only have a few sps growing now.

it really depends on your tank... i would get a contoller and set it up like that...

1000 / 20 psi is fine. 1 bubble every 3 sec is fine to start with. Does the regulator have a 3 prong wire going to it? If it does then this needs to be plugged in. This is a solenoid and needs to be on in order for the CO2 to flow. If it doesn’t then don’t worry about it. Next turn off your reactor recirculation and feed pump and disconnect the CO2 line from the bubble counter. Open the needle valve slowly and see if you have any bubbles in the bubble counter. If you do then connect the line back up and disconnect the line at the reactor. Put the line in a glass of water do you have bubbles? If you do, then reconnect the line back to the reactor. You should be good to go. Check your KH out of the reactor in a day or two just to make sure that its working. HTH

PS be sure to turn back on the recirc and feed pumps.
