Calcium Reactor Media

I'm setting up a calcium reactor on a new build. I have never run a reactor before. On my old tank I used dosing pumps. My question is on media for the reactor. It seems there is some concern with different brands leaching phosphates into the water as the media dissolves. I was looking around and found Elos PUR XL. It claims to be 100% nitrate and phosphate free. Has anyone had any experience with this media? Also what about running 10% Korallen-Zucht ZEOmag Magnesium in the reactor also to keep up with magnesium consumption?

I tend to subscribe to the theory that if you dissolve dead coral skeleton you get all of the elements needed for living coral growth in the correct proportions. Consequently I prefer and use the reborn media. Does a spot on job of keeping levels correct. Seems lots of folks have success with ARM as well.

I do use dolomite in my reactor as well, but I suspect it is not necessary.

What is the dolomite for?

Zeomag = activated dolomite.

I buy regular ARM in (not coarse or extra coarse) by the 50lb bag. If you look around you can get a 50lb bag delivered for under $100.
