when it runs out, lol, jk, when it gets to low inside the reactor, or when your alk starts to go down, that means that the reactor cannot keep up becuase of low media inside it.....
Most calcium reactors have a fill point. I wait until it is down 50% and then refill. Most reactors allow you to top off (mine does) but some may require a change out.
