Calcium Reactor on a 29 gallon tank?

What does anyone think about this idea? This is one area in reef keeping that I have no experience in. They sound like a great addition to an SPS tank, but I think it is a little overkill for a tank my size. Right now, I dose with Ocean's Blend 2-part alkalinity/calcium, and do 7-10 day water changes, and my water parameters are great (alkalinity could be a little higher, but I am trying to adjust that). Any opinions would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!!

I don't think it is an absolute must for your setup, but it would be nice to have. The added buffering power of it would definitely help you save in 2-part solution, and the time it takes to tinker with dosing your system. However, if you are like me you will probably find yourself still adding bicarbonate and buffer, as well as dripping kalk just to tweak your numbers a little here and there.

Jeremy,

The only thing I dose with now is Ocean's Blend (great stuff by the way!!). My Magnesium & Calcium levels are a little high, so I am going to reduce the amount of daily additions, and see what that does. Right now, I am dosing 20 mL a day, but was thinking of reducing that to 10. As of yesterday afternoon, Calcium was at 480 ppm, & Magnesium at 1,500 ppm (like I said, a little high). And my alkalinity was a little low. I was going to start adding Seachem's Reef Builder at low doses every few days to boost alkalinity.
