Calcium Reactor

Im not using a Ph controller for my calcium reactor. It has been running for close to a month. The problem are........
1. My calcium reading low 350ppm and effluent reading from calcium reactor is 380ppm.
2. dkh reading is 17!!!!! and effluent reading from reactor is 38.
3. Co2 release is about 3 bubbles per seconds.
4. Effluent flow from calcium reactor is quite fast droplets.

Plse help me rectify this BIG HEADACHE!!!!

At the moment Im boosting my calcium with Seachem Reef Calcium Advantage.





3ft/2ft/2ft DISPLAY TANK
2ft/1.5ft/1ft SUMP TANK
50cm/40cm/50cm REFUGIUM TANK
Tank is quite heavily stock with SPS ans LPS corals.

what is the ph of the tank and the ph comming from the reactor i think your dkh is the problem though thats REALY REALY high i think around 9-10 is good

Ph in tank is 8.5 and effluent ph is 6.4.

I am no expert but just set up a reactor recently. Your DKH is to high, you would probably do good to shut this thing off until you get a handle on your Alkalinity. It is recommended you have you Alk/Calcium/PH parameters in good values before using a carbonate reactor. I would use water changes and 2 part solutions to get you back to baseline. Once stabalize You need to scale back the amount of drips in the effluent. try to get around 60-80 drips a minute. You need to monitor the PH in the reactor so you dont turn the media to mush. Do you have a ph meter? I use one to control the internal PH. Go slow, It took me 4 days to get mine dialed in.
If you dont want to take the reactor offline you will need turn the CO2 bubbles way down as well as effluent drip rate turn it way down. That is all I have for a quick answer, got to go to work now.

Thanks Wes. Thats a good idea. Off my Calcium reactor and gonna do water change till water parameter back to good readings. Btw all corals look fine but dont wish to take risk my thousands dollars investment.
