Calcium reator ?'s

Crushed coral. I use a specimine container filled with CC and dolomite. It has holes drilled in the side. I have a small cup that hold's my probe sitting on top that the effluent drip's in, so after the cup the effluent flow's through more crushed coral to raise the ph a bit, then it drip's down into a very turbulent area, and hopefully through the skimmer.

Ok, well, I don't use a PH monitor either, actually I rarely ever check PH. WHat re some adverse side effect may notice if it is too high or too low??

I don't know how you do it. Either you're not low enough to supply enough calcium and alkalinity to the tank, or too low and the media turn's to mush.

Mike: I don't know if I have been extremely lucky or what, but, my alk and calcium are right on, and my media has been slowly dissappearing. Let me re-check my levels.

hey sean sorry ive been mia lol

most deffinatetly let me know i can cruise by and show u how it works

they are simple the 2nd chamber is for the extra media it helps lower the PH back down to about 7.5-7.8 by removing the CO2 outta the water

but i run mine at about 6.5-6.3 like i said and seems to work fine!

im not suing ARM lol im using thats what i meant to say

mines never melted down so im not sure y others have and my ph dropped low in the chamber due to the needle valve sticking....

but nothing bad happned

anyways let me know i can swing by one of these days and check it out....

about the T- valve u know i bougfht it from vivid aquariums with the reactor it came with it in line for an extra 20 bucks so im not sure it has some rubber garment in there to seal it

ph=8.1(display reading)
ph(effluent drip)=lower than 7.4(lowest my s***** test kit goes)
alk=11
calcium=430
