Richard,

Just sent an email regarding the order I placed with Mary a couple weeks ago. Just posting here since thats what you asked for in your original post.

Sent you a PM Richard. If you need me to email or call with additional info, please let me know. Thanks!

Alright......Im not going to get excited. Richard, any flight to IAD would be great. I would prefer an 1100 to 1300hr arrival but hey, just say the word and I will be there. Again, It's a 120 2nd half with everything but half the hermits, dont need the shrimp and only one brittle star. I'll email you in the am with all the specs if this is confusing. Wow, I'm not going to get excited.....

I am getting the first half of my package on Thurs and I'm not hiding anything, I'm excited! I just need to know if I need to do anything to prepare for it. (not tank as that's a go) I've seen pictures of tarps laid out with the rock on it. Should I have something like that so unwanted hitchhikers will flee? Should I know what an unwanted hitchhiker is? Any and all tips are appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, the instructions sheet in a nutshell (don't forget to open the instructions sheet! :D)
(a) Stir sand, pour off the cloudy stuff
(b) Put bag in tank and upend it to get sand in without creating big clouds
(c) Take rocks out and set on tarp; wait 20 minutes or so for crabs and other undesirables to hopefully crawl off
(d) Artistically arrange rocks in tank. Don't worry, you'll want to rearrange when part 2 gets in
(e) Mix in the little brown bag of bacteria/enzymes, and put that in the tank too.
(f) Collect all hitchhikers from the tarp. ID them. If "good" crabs, throw them in the tank. If "not-so-good" crabs, --you choose what to do with them.

See the TBS site on crabs for pictures of good & bad crabs. Basically, the easiest way is count the legs. Porcelain crabs have only 3 pairs behind the big claws; the red emeralds have 4. Porcelains are good, everybody else is (potentially) bad.

HD, I assume that during (c) you're supposed to mist the rocks with saltwater to keep them moist?

Anxious to hear back from Richard. I'm ready and raring to go.
