Can a Chalice Loose Color?

Im not too familiar with them and was wondering if it is like an acro and can pale out and lose color, but make a comeback.

Sure can...I have one in the shade and a frag of it in the light, two very differnet colors. The one in the shade is a deep, dark color while the one out in the light is much more pale. Interestingly enough the mouths are the same bright, beautiful pink/orange on both pieces.

Thanks for the help slojmn. I was thinking of picking one up that is very pale (white) with some bright pink/red and neon blue streaks in it. They have it being blasted by light so I wasn't sure if it would color up or not.

So in a 75 with 2x250 MH + 220W Actinic VHO: is it best to place the chalice in shade, on bottom, face forward, 45 degrees or up, etc??

fijiblue, my guess is that chalice is definately bleached if it is close to white and you notice a neon tint to the red. It would definately color up with hte TLC :D.

32flavors, I would definately keep chalices more on the bottom and work your way up slowly to see how they do. I have a couple of chalices that just turn differnet colors/shades with more or less light. It ends up being preference as the chalice is accepting of more or less light. Others definately want to be a in a bit less light. As a rule most all of my chalices are on the bottom, face up.
