Can a crocea clam survive if....

1) it has lost its bysall foot? (not sure if spelled properly). Do crocea's shed their bysall?

2) its "hinge" is broke? I put a clam shell under the crocea for it to attach to, but I guess it moved, cause it atached to the edge of the clam shell, and when it tried to clam shut, the edge of the shell was in the clam... long story short, the hinge is busted, and the clam can't shut completely anymore

I noticed these things after coming home this weekend from a biz trip. It looks ok, but not sure if it can survive with the above

Croceas can regrow Bysal threads. I doubt it'd live long with a busted "hinge" though. Good luck!!
