Can a Torch touch a Duncan

IN OVER MY HEAD

Can a Torch touch a Duncan, my torch has a huge reach on it, just wondering if it can touch my Duncan. My LFS had the Duncan in with torch's but my torch came from a different LFS than my Duncan.

If a torch is in reaching distance of a duncan it is probably going to kill it in the long term. I would give it space, the duncan is mostly defenseless when it comes to coral on coral warfare.

To be fair to the dueling answers above me your question is fairly ambiguous. (Yes, it literally can touch it however you do not want it to.)

Not really, the question is "œcan they touch?"
Of course they can touch, the outcome will not be good but then again, that wasn't the question.

Or you can not purposefully mislead someone asking how to care for their coral, even if they do not know how to phrase a question.

Duncans don't have much if any defense I've seen and a torch has some of the best defense so I would keep them apart.

In other words they can touch but it would mean the death of your duncan . Move it far away if you want to keep your duncan healthy and alive .

Anything in the euphyllia family is going to give it's neighbors a bad time. Torches, frogspawners, and hammers will all sting neighbors, potentially killing them. Sometimes, you can get away with euphyllia touching each other, they don't always harm others in their family, but the torch is notorious for harming even family members.

My understanding is that members of this genus can touch each other without harm. Of course they will compete for food resources, but they don't sting each other.
