can an anemone crab transmit infection to other anemones?

If an anemone crab was kept with a carpet that turned out to be sick, will transferring it to a healthy anemone possibly spread disease?

How long do I need to qt the anemone crab before it should be clear/ not cause any problem for the healthy carpet?

Also any problem with the rock kept in the same tank as a sick anemone/ how long to wait to transfer the rock to a tank with a healthy anemone?

Anyone? Have the Anemone Crab separated right Now but waiting to hear others opinions before putting him with a heathy carpet

Interesting thought. If you have cipro you could try giving the crab a dip in it. Shouldn't hurt the crab and I would assume since the bacteria would not be stored in it's body, or in large amounts, that the cipro would eliminate the threat rather quickly.

I'm right now in the same situation. I bought a pair that was in a sick carpet anemone (pairs are hard to find) and there were other disintegrating anemones in the same system. On top of that I know that the system had clownfish with brook in it two weeks ago (though the current clowns were all healthy).

My plan is to keep them in a QT until they have at least once molded. That way they have at least a clean shell. Since they are filter feeder they may also by then have eaten all the free protozoan stages of fish parasites.
