I was checking out my corals and I saw a very interesting worm this morning under a rock. It had horizontal black and gray stripes with a kind of fuzzy mouth, im not sure how old it is or the exact length because it was hidden behind a rock. From what I saw, it must be atleast 1.5 inches long and has a round body. It seemed like it was sifting sand so im not too worried about it. It seemed to stretch out by like unfolding itself (it looked almost like it was unfolding after being inside out) the head almost folded into the rest of its body when it retracted. Does anybody know what it might be? i couldnt get a picture due to the angle of the rock, if it comes out further ill get one.

sounds like a peanut worm I have several check tank at night with lights out ease up with a flash light, it will dig through the sub strate looking for food but live in a rock.

Behavior, coloration, and feeding method tells me that ethank77 is right about the peanut worm.

Harmless. Kinda creepy, kinda neat, but harmless.
