Can anyone help me I.d what this is??

Hope this in the right place but I was aqua scraping last night an picked up one of my zoa rocks and I found this on the side that had been facing away from the front viewing pane I tried looking up various things but I'm at a loss would greatly appreciate any help figureing out what this is

From your photo, they look like barnacles. Can you get a closer view?

Looks like colonial tunicates to me.

I can't take another pic till I get off work, are barnacles soft? I touched iot when I picked up the rock and it was soft to the touch.

Barnacles are hard shelled creatures. Tunicates are soft.

Are tunicates bad for your tank, I googled them from what I found it says something about them taking over areas in where they thrive.

Did you search colonial tunicates? Single tunicates look much different.

Tunicates are benifical filterfeeders, so are barnacles.

Does it by chance move? Like if you bump it does it shrink up?
