Can carpets go sexual?

Sorry for the double post im a lil freaked out.

Can Carpet nems (haddoni) go sexual? My carpet was blowing up very funny looking before feeding and lights out i am uploading pics now and I went to bed. About an hour later I come out and check on the tank and my water is cloudy and nem is normal deflated/smaller like he always is during the night.

Could he have gone sexual and clouded my tank?

I did just install a sump this weekend but everything looks and is running fine nothing has fallen in the dt or sump and everything is operating normally.

I just cleaned my skimmer so it is not really skimming right now though i set it to the wettest skimming setting.

That's probably sperm in the water. Anemones do spawn with eggs and sperm so yeah. Do a big water change because that junk will mess up your water really fast

Ummmmmm this could be bad I just did a 30g change I have no water left! It's 11 30 on a Sunday I guess I could use tap water what about running a bunch of carbon?

It is possible, though I personally haven't witnessed it with any of mine. But, I did watch my BTA doing that years ago.

I wouldn't use tap, not worth the risk. I would run a bunch of fresh carbon, and make sure that your skimmer is working right.

When my BTA did it the water was very cloudy afterwards. I was able to do a WC, but I only did 5 gallons on my 75. I just changed the carbon and ran my skimmer a bit wetter. No ill effects. If you can get some water tomorrow, I would do a WC then.

Welp wally world is outa carbon I'm gonna run the 2 used bags of chemi pure in my sump through my old fluval and cross my fingers till morning.

Water is looking better and nem is completely deflated so I think i am ok I am gonna do a wc later today and put in new carbon. Toddrtrex- when you saw ur gbta spawn did it blow up funny like that too? I still dont know quite what to think of all this.

If memory serves the BTA pretty much looked like it always does, perhaps a little bit smaller afterwards, but didn't blow up like your Haddoni.

Yea it was really cool UNTIL my tank looked like a glass of watery milk at 1230 on a sunday night with no fresh water or new carbon!

Update nem is still deflated and small water is 95% clear with fresh carbon running so I guess I have come out ok. Has anyone ever seen a haddoni do this before or know they habits before spawning?

when my bta spawned, it didn't look too out of the norm. It was a bit inflated before, and a bit deflated after, but nothing like yours.
