Can cleaner shrimp hurt LPs Corals

Can cleaner shrimp hurt corals like frogspawn?
My cleaner shrimp diggs around in my big frogspawn and I worry that it can hurt the coral causing tissue damage and open the door for bacterial like brown jelly.
Should I put him in the sump??
This happens only at night

Yes they can, just keep an eye on it and if it starts reclining I would send the shrimp to the sump or trade it in at your LFS for store credit. I've had too many issues with both shrimp and crabs, enough for me to not have any of either in my DT. The only crab I will have in my DT are scarlet legged hermits.

He was on my frogspawn pretty much all night, last night. Never when the lights are in though. I also found 2 snails and a hermit crab on it. It's a 12 branch coral. Is it possible that the shrimp is cleaning or eating parasites off of it??

Yes. I had issues with cleaners (shrimps in general) so many times before I also banned them from the tank. It was impossible to spot feed the LPS, the second I did the shrimp would move it and take it. Even when I just dumped food into the tank he would go over acans and lobos for hours picking out anything they may have caught. The lps suffered because of this so I removed. problem solved

Do you ever feed the frogspawn? If so, my guess is that the shrimp made the connection between the coral & food and that's probably what it's looking for.

I've never fed the coral but I always fed right above where the coral is, so I think that's what started it. I guess I'll have to put him I the sump. I'm hoping he makes it down there.:sad2::sad2:
