i recently bought this small blue tipped acro colony from a LFS and i noticed today that alot of areas that are very thick branching(like due to natural fragging) theres little feather dusters that pop in and out of the coral feeding.
is this something to be concerned about? coral seems fine. even came with a small acro crab of somesort!

Those are actually a type of Barnalce I think. I've got a few myself, they just feed off the particulate matter floating in the water column.

What color is it? I have a white barnacle that open and closes when it wants to feed. It looks similar to coco worm or a feather duster

i can't see any baracle, but since the base off the colony is a tanish color it might be camo'ed in there. the feather part is white
i've counted about 7 of them .

Sounds like a barnacle. I don't know of any worms that open and close like that. You won't necessarily see the stereotypical volcano-shaped shell.

IME barnacles are bad news. I had one die in acro after a month or so and RTN the surrounding tissue as it decayed.

I saw A small white feather duster coming out of my new Arco frag. My Frag looks Great. I don't think it has caused and problems yet.
