can feather dusters see?

because everytime i get near my tank, the feather duster we found (yesterday after four months?!) pulls back in. fast! if we sit there, he comes back out, but a quick movement and he goes back in. if i am about 4 feet away, and dont move, he comes and goes normally.

i just think they can sense motion but i don't believe they can see you

They can very definitely sense changes in light. I don't know if that equates to motion or not.

They don't sense motion but they have very sensitive light receptors. When you move they sense the change in intensity of the light triggering that reaction. So in a sense they sense motion! LOL!
