I have a 700gph glass holes box - can I cut the teeth off of it?

on an unrelated note... the type-o in the subject line - I can't fix that, can I? User permissions... ?

Sure, but your fish risk taking the drainage ride to the sump.

Also risk snails clogging the drain and flooding your house.

because I don't want teeth on my overflow box... will allow me to raise it slightly and improve surface skimming.

On all the tanks I've done I went without teeth on the boxes. you're skimming such a thin layer or water you shouldn't have to worry about fish and you should always have something like eggcrate or gutter guard to keep snails out if you son't have a strainer on the drain. Lop them off and party on...
