To help save on some costs, i am looking into having pendant lighting.

However my darling wife doesn't want to see them hanging from the rafters ...

my question is this, should i be safely able to mount MH pendants from inside my canopy when i get it? I know that i will probably have to add in a fan or 2 for cooling but will it be safe? as i no fires started from all the heat that the bulb will produce.

It is going to be 250W MH bulbs

If you leave enough room around the pendants for air circulation, you'll likely be fine. You could look into some retrofit kit, though, and use those for the canopy. That should be less expensive.

I have 3 250's hanging from inside my canopy. The top of the pendant is about 2 inches from the canopy. Are your pendants DE's? If so then I would definetely keep them and not go retro. DE's IME run alot cooler. Just my thoughts, hope it helps.
