I am about to pull the trigger on an RO/DI unit, I just can't manage my nitrates anymore and it's killing my fish. unfortunately I don't have a lot of $$ to spend on one, but I may have found a solution. NOW...I don't really know the 1st thing about RO DI units, so please tell me if this product is formidable.

PS: I'm buying the one that works for drinking water as well so that I can get the MRS. to pitch in :)

Here's the ebay link, but you can pretty much buy this anytime for $130if you can copy & paste it. Thanks in advance for the help!

If you search, there are quite a number of issues with the ebay specials (basically rigged up drinking water systems). Saving a few bucks here at the beginning isn't worth it if you spend a LOT more in the end.

BuckeyeFieldSupply is my personal favorite, but we have a number of solid sponsors that specialize in this area.

On a side note, I can't say that nitrates in your tank "killing your fish" will be fixed by a RO/DI system. It sounds like you have a number of potential issues. Getting a solid RO/DI setup or at least getting water from a good one (via LFS, fellow reefer, etc) is a must... but it might not be the "miracle cure" for your current situation.

Air water and ice kicks butt with customer service, I have one of their units. They also have a lifetime hardware replacement policy, so if anything breaks they replace it. I used it once when my sink connector was giving me problems, they sent me out a new one that arrived in 2 days, free of charge.
