Can I keep a BTA in a 30 gallon?

I'll have lots of skimming (ASM G3) and circulation (OceansMotions closed loop) an ocellaris that I've kept for 7 years and automated water changes.

Yeah, a 30 gallon is big enough. What is your specific gravity? I assume you know about their need for bright light. A remote deep sand bed or a chaeto filter might bring down those nitrates. Although 10ppm might not be an issue for a BTA, lower couldn't hurt.

Oh, I forgot light, (2) 150 watt Coralife pendants. I'll tell you specific gravity when I get my calibration solutions for my conductivity meter.

you have to 150's over a 30g? mh's are supposed to cover 24x24, and i dont imagine your tank is too much larger than that...i would say you almost might do well to try to swap/sell one (shoot, both and upgrade to 250?) and add a pair of t5's or pc's for a morning/noon/evening effect. plenty of light.

i had a bta that split twice and grew like mad in a 44g under a 175...the 14k really had more effect that the 20k (i've read lower colors get more par deeper). i had a nw-110 reef octopus, and i fed like an idiot--tons of food. my n'ates got up to the 10-20 range, and i never saw any issues (of course, ymmv...).

We have one in a 20g tall with a PLTA under 2 24" VHO's, but i am getting ready to move them into a 39g tall since the RBTA stretches out to about 2/3 of the tank!
