Can I keep a Bubble Tip?

Hello everyone,

I currently have a 12g NC with a true per clown and some various soft corals like mushrooms and polyps.

I really want to keep a bubble tip anemone for my clown to host in...my clown is wild, yes but I only have 2 watts of light/gallon. The lighting is power compact (the standard JBJ NC lighting...). I have heard I can/cant keep it.

What are your ideas?? Please help. Thank you! :)

Some BTA will not get big. They just split, so size-wise, your OK if you pick the right anemone. Light is a little too low. I don't think BTA will do well with the amount of light you have.

Well, I heard it would do ok if it was up closer to the light....do you have a link for an online company that has the BTA that I could keep ok? Thanks.

Take the top off that jbj and hang a MH pendant 70-150 watt just make sure its a good foot off the water to deal with the heat. I had a jbj with a Giesemann 13K 150 HQI and loved it though I did have to install a coolworks ice probe to bring the heat down in the summer. I don't think any anemone would live for more than six months under such low light IMO.
