Can I keep a clam

Can I keep a deresa clam under 440 watts of VHO lighting if I kept my water quality high. Also I have a flame angel, would it pick at the mantle. It is very reef safe.

all angels are potential clam nippers, this includes the dwarf angels. IMO it is not worth the risk to find out, even if he doesn't start nipping right away they will often snap and start at a later time.

I would say lighting wise you should be fine. Not sure about the fish though. I know someone keeping a clam under nothing but PC lighting and it's huge and growing. So it all really depends. Good water quality is also a factor. Good Luck
