can I keep a jawfish?

I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to keep a jawfish of some kind, but my sand bed is only 3". I have seen many people who have the same problem that keep these fish anyways, and I was wondering if that might work for me?

I have a 75g display with a 40g breeder fuge, and a DSB in the fuge. my sand bed is about 3" and my fish are peaceful (besides my yellow wrasse, and she calms down quickly).

would this work?

Three inches is fine, more would be better, but not necessary. If it were my tank what I would do is put a flat stone or lg shell about 2 inches under the sand and add some rubble for it to use as a tunnel and after it gets acclimated it will use the shell as the roof of the burrow and be happy. It may take a while for it to be comfortable but in a couple of weeks, unless it finds a good piece of live rock, it will move its burrow to the shell. In the ocean they almost always have a lg flat rock as a roof to the burrow, how they find this rock I have no idea, if you look at the colonies they look like they are built right into the sand or mud.

thanks. I dont surrently have any rocks he might be able to use, but I am planning to make some more rubble from some small rocks I have no other use for. my rocks are setup in a way that he should be able to find a place between the glass and sand for a burrow.
