Funny that you ask. .I am on my second clutch of Bangai. Yes, you can. . If you can, set up another tank and place the father with the eggs in it. . Be sure to try and match the parameters of the tank the father comes from. And then you also want to place live rock and some sand in the tank if you possibly can. That will actually negate the cycling of the tank. If pj's are like Bangai, they mouth brood for about 4 weeks (mark it on your calendar)and then begin spitting. . And contrary to what was stated, you want to keep the father in with the babies for a good week or two. If you don't, the female will mate with him again, and he will "then" eat the eggs, add he hasn't ate in a month. . Which also brings up the feeding. . Once the father let's the last one go, start feeding him some good mysis(I mix up food with mysis and selcon )to get his strength back up. .
Then you want to basically set up a breeding station for Brine shrimp. I use a Tupperware container with 2 air stones and the lit by a small halogen bulb. What that does is actually keeps the water warm, aerates the solution, and keeps the food you feed the brine in suspension. Also and importantly, you want to use full strength salt water at 35 ppt for hatching and raising your brine eggs. .
The babies are going to eat the baby and adult brine. You will feed the brine either activated yeast or spirulina powder. You'll want to feed them(the adult and baby brine) that twice a day, and only a tiny pinch of it. And then, you will want to feed your baby cardinals the brine at least twice a day also...
Lol, this information I have pieced together from tons of reading and YouTube videos. This is honestly the most condensed and simplistic version I could give as they make it difficult and it doesn't have to be. .
The key is getting good brine eggs and keeping the water with food in it to feed the brine. .
