Gently! Some say hold an ice cube against the foot and it'll release. Never tried it, I just kinda gently peel mine off. I've used a plastic spoon and my thumb nail to get them off at times. Sliding something under one part then another works too. The few times I've damaged parts they always seemed to heal quickly and without a problem... but then again I slice them in half with razor blades and they heal so a little chunk of missing foot probably doesn't bother them much.

^this. i have sold about 30 of these and this is the method i use. i never tried the ice cube thing though either.

Yeah, the colors on it are a bit too dull for where is settled in the tank. I may peel it off and find someone that can give it a new home. Do they change color after a few weeks of feeding, etc. My other mini looks very bright, even after shipping.
