Hey i have l12,l34, and i need a l56 can i use a s1-4 jack to dim and time my lights like l1-4? If so how
???????!!!

You can't use the S ports for anything but switchable devices like the Digital powerbars or dosing pumps.

If you need extra L ports you can get the PLM-4L add in card which gives you 4 extra L ports (L3L4 and L5L6)

Are you sure about that? I looked up a plm-4l and it has nothing to do with lights i have a pro 3 (not ex) so i have already l-1,2 = l-3,4 i need a 5,6 or if i could use a s1-4?!

First question is what equipment are you hooking up to the L ports? We can then establish what you require more accurately.

To explain ports further.

L ports = 1-10V interfaces, these are used to drive 1-10V devises such as meanwell ballasts, T5HO 1-10V dimmable ballasts, Tunze pumps, and other GHL devises that require a driving signal for ramping up and down dimmable or voltage regulators.

S ports - ONLY used for power bars and dosing units.

S = switchable

L = Line

If you plug a device designed to be run on an L port into an S port or visa versa, your controller will shut down or worse fry. There are internal thermal fuses to stop users melting their controllers if they do this by mistake but damage can still occur if the thermal fuse is too overloaded. But of course ALL users read the very big red warning sheet that comes with all ProfiLux's and sits on top of the unit so the very first thing you see when opening the box dont they? ;)

If you are wanting to expand your profiLux ability to control more 1-10V devises then you need PLM-4L

You will have to open the unit up to install the card, if you have an EX do not install in slot 1 as this is for communication cards only.

i have pro 3 not the ex model though i have the beginer, so how do i do this? to get the extra jacks for illumination? do i still have to open the unit? or do i just plug into my pro 3 in the back somwhere?

the main board inside the profiLux is like a motherboard on a computer, the card slots into a spare expansion port inside the controller on the ProfiLux motherboard.

PLUG AND PLAY ;)

so exactly where do i need to plug my lights to once i slide the card in? im sorry just confused ill order it tomorrow and next day air it. so when i slide the card in wich i understand what your saying but where will i plug my lights into if i have no spare knock outs or anything on the back?

im using the L1-4 for lighting diy leds. but i need another jack or port like a L-5,6 to plug the remainder of my lights in so i can control them just like L1-4 sorry thanks

OK so this is simple, once you install the PLM-4L into the back of the unit by taking the lid off inserting the new card you just plug do as You have before.

I assume you are using EVG-AP-2F as the interface which comes with the lead to plug into the L port

The PLM-4L has 2 extra L port plugs on the back (2 L ports per plug). You have to open the unit to install the card, but the back side of the card will be accessable from the rear of the profilux just like all your other ports. The card replaces one of the plastic blanks that cover the expansion slots on the right side of the unit.
