can it be cyanide ?

Hi everyone,

4 days ago I bought a nice Powder Brown Tang that looked healthy. The store received it 1 week before. It had no sign of anything, infection or parasite.

I came home, did a drip acclimatation for 3-4 hours in my QT tank. I didn't feed him the first day. The next I fed him mysis that it seemd to love. I didn't feed the third day. I was shocked to discover this morning that he was dead and looked awful.

Can it be cyanide, is there a way to tell if it is cyanide ?

I guess it is possible, but there are other possibilities as well: shipping trauma, general stress, ammonia burn from shipping, unseen parasitic infestation, post traumatic shipping disorder/delayed mortality syndrome, etc.
