My bamboo shark pup just hatch three days ago. I tried giving him krill and silver stone but he refuse to eat. What can I give him to enhance his appetite.

I would sugest ghost/glass shrimp. Any sort of live shirmp should get him eating! Bottom dwelling sharks have a strong natural reaction to shrimp.

Do you have that in a 55G? How long have you been in the hobby?

I hope you've read up and done a lot of homework before getting a shark. The reason I ask is the amount of posts, your length of time on RC and the tank description under the name.

I agree with cschweitzer here. I looks like this is more then what to feed a baby shark to get him eating. It could be that this person, going by the # of posts and tank listed, may be a victim of an uncaring shop owner making a quick buck on someone new and excited about getting into the hobby.
How long has the tank been up and running? Do you have test kits for amonia, nitrite, nitrate, and salinity? If so what do they test at? What other fish if any are in the tank?
I'm no shark expert, but i believe they are pretty sensitive to water conditions. He may need a fellow reefer close by to maybe keep the shark in an established system for a while or something while he gets his tank cycled properly.

lets not jump on him for having low posts!!! I did not know of reefcentral until after a year and a half after I got into the hobby, and while that is not a very long time the only way you learn is buying things, asking questions and making mistakes. He also may be raising it in a smaller tank in preperation to get a larger tank.

He may take a few more days to eat don't panic. We feed ours very small live ghost shrimp, just put them in the tank and he'll find them.<P>They are more active hunters at night. He'll likely be ok in the 55 for a while even though most sites say sharks "need" 180g. My daughter had hers in a 29g for months, he eat and is healthy looking w/o skin problems. (It was out agreement she would give him away soon after hatched for this reason, but ya know how kids are!) you can later also try some frozen squid hold a small amount on plastic tweezers for him so you don't pollute the tank with the excess.

I meant absolutely no disrespect. I am just worried that his conditions may not be optimal for this animal, especially IF the tank is new. That is why I asked questions...so that if he answers I have an understanding of how to help. There was no malicious intent, purely some really important questions if trying to figure out why an animal cannot or will not eat.
He could be in for years and have thousands of posts on another site. He could have a 1000G tank he did not describe under setups. But if he does, I would like to know so we can get by basic problems and right into roots of solution. Unfortunately, many people with 8 posts, a tank description of 55G, and a registered date of April means that they have not been in the hobby long enough, especially to know exactl what needs to be done to keep babies(of any size) alive.
Again, please prove my assumptions wrong...that would make me happier than anything else.

I've hatched and raised 2 Bamboo sharks. I kept both of them in a 29 gallon tank for the first 6 months, then each one went in a 125, where they lived for about 4 years, before being given to friends with LARGE fish only tanks. I put ghost shrimp in the 29. I would pick them up on the way home from work and put a dozen in there every 2-3 days at about 6pm. Never saw either one of them eat for the first several weeks. After they got more agressive with their eating habits, I began feeding shrimp, clams, crabs, fish...whatever I could get from the shrimp docks near Houma, La.

It will take a few days to a week before they eat. It's common for them to refuse food the first day or two. Keep trying with krill or raw shrimp.
