As stated trying to figure out the difference between the 20k and 30k Lokani other than the 10k..pics anyone?
can someone tell me the difference between 20k

The original 20k lokani colony was lost according to Reefarmers web site. The 30K was close to the 20k so it was used as a replacement.
I have had both of them in fact I still have the 20K and for me it is the slowest growing acro I have ever had. The 30 k was a pretty fast grower when I had it before.
The 20 k has more hints of light blue than the 30 k.
I do not have any pics sorry.

SOOO slow. Makes purple monster seem like a fast grower. My caroliniana is super slow too.
Who cares.....it was wild right? Than you discovered it....you name it. How about rogers finger lick'n lokani! Hey kinda like that.
Here's mine....I was calling it blue peaches but not sure Im feeling that anymore....haha.

Nice shot Darryl the polyps look awesome can you get a macro shot of those ? I have another lokani like the avatar that has a similar color and same micro dot type look on the polyp the new one the questionable 50k lol has a star type polyp unlike my others that has me perplexed love them both and they are different now if i can only get the suharsonoi nailed down ...man Darryl where do you get your corals from being in Canada?

Please take this for what it's worth and not as an attack.
I suggest you spend some quality time with Veron's Corals of the World.
Forget the common names for a while, unless the coral has a lineage in captivity.
Beyond that, at the very best it can only be considered an "identical morph" as Liveaquaria likes to phrase it. And because it doesn't have the track record in captivity, it really doesn't earn the name. I personally believe that it's more accurate and creates less confusion if another name is chosen.
Veron explains the taxonomy and structure and growth in depth before covering the species pages. Studying the other resources leading up to the spreadsheets will open ones eyes to how much misinformation this hobby perpetuates and will allow one to view coral morphology in a far more complete and meaningful manner. Trying to identify Acropora species by trait's such as "what color/shape the polyps are" "it sure looks like my red planet" :deadhorse1: will quickly be left behind for more reliable ID methods.
I prefer using the AIMS database because they have more images, but the SDMAS one is okay.
