Can someone use a Sea Hare?

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone might be able to use a Sea Hare. I got it about a month ago. I wasn't overly interested in it but I wanted to take care of some hair algae issues and the shop I went to convinced me to get it.

Well, he's just too dang efficient and now that my tank is spotless I'm concerned about its wellbeing. I haven't been able to get it to feed with regularity on seaweed or parboiled lettuce. I tried calling all of the saltwater shops in this area about taking it but none were interested.

We don't have an aquarists' group here that I could ask so I'm checking with you fine folks. Apparently a lot of groups will rotate a sea hare among them. Perhaps that would be possible.

I'm in Meadville, PA and would be happy to get it to you or meet someone midway if you're a long distance from me.

I hope someone might be interested. I'd hate to see anything happen to this guy.

Interesting. I'm looking at your site. The only group I was ever aware of was hosted at Sea Cave but when I asked about the old reference on Sea Cave's website Steven said that it really wasn't meeting anymore. Do you have established meetings? I'm not seeing much on the site?

By the way, I called Sea Cave and they wouldn't take it. Not surprising. You can't find any algae in Steven's tanks.

I made contact with someone tonight in Erie that may be able to take it. I'll advise if that doesn't work out.

I fear it wouldn't survive being shipped and Erie is a bit closer for me.
